Friday – Sunday June 13-15 – Walk the outdoor Peace Labyrinth at Coral Isles Church. MM 90 oceanside. Instructions on walking a Labyrinth will be available. Check out Chartres Labryrinth., the type of Labryrinth at Coral Shores.

Flag Ceremony - On Flag Day, Keys to Peace will officially open the Florida Keys branch of the National Peace Academy at Treasure Village Montessori Charter School (MM 86.7 oceanside). Thousands of Peace Flags made in the Keys and around the world will be raised on a Peace Pole. A color guard with American flags will also be featured.

The Peace Academy classes will commence at 11:00 AM on the Montessori school campus. All classes will focus on providing practical ways to increase inner peace, as well as peace in the family, the workplace and the community. Lama Migmar (Lama is Tibetan for “teacher’) will lead two classes on meditation. Ten other instructors will share their peacebuilding expertise.
Most classes will be geared to an adult audience, although a special parent and child activity will be offered at 11:00. The public will have the option to attend four lectures between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Tuition is $ 5.00 per class, with a discounted package for students who attend four classes. In honor of Father’s Day, tuition will be waived for all fathers who attend. Children are encouraged to bring their dads.
Members of the Coral Shores Student Peace Alliance will sell box lunches. The day will end with an informal “ fish bowl ““ session where students and teachers will share their impressions of the day and propose ideas for the next Peace Academy which will reconvene in September for the International Day of Peace.
Sunday, June 15th – Informal “Peace Paddle” kayaking event in the Dove Creek area in Key Largo. A shaded pontoon boat with refreshments will be anchored oceanside as a “mother ship”.

From US 1 at MM 92.5 where the Circle K is in the center), turn Oceanside onto Burton Road.
At the 2nd right off Burton is Buttonwood Lane where Mari-Etta lives at 232.
Continue straight on Burton, follow signs to Harry Harris Park (the name of Burton changes to Planter Street, then First, and then Beach Road).
At the entrance to the Park, turn left onto East Beach. This turns into Dove Creek Road. Go to the end and turn left on Caribbean—go to the end and park.
Put Kayaks into the water at the right side of Caribbean. The Lake will be to the left and the stream to the ocean on the right when you begin paddling. Paddle to the right to find the Toy Box which will be anchored where Dove Creek meets the ocean.
