June 12, 2008 Unity of Marathon in conjunction with Keys to Peace will present LAMA MIGMAR TSETEN at the Marathon Garden Club beginning at 6:00 PM. Lama Tseten will be present from 6 until 7 for greeting and will speak beginning at 7:00 P.M. The event is free to the public. The Marathon Garden Club is located Bayside MM 50 5270 Overseas Hwy across the street from the vacant Garys Pub and the Marathon Liquor and Deli Shopping Center. | | | Lama Migmar Tseten is a Buddhist chaplain at Harvard University. He was born in Central Tibet in 1956. His family relocated to India in 1959. Lama Migmar became a monk in 1970 and trained extensively with many teachers, receiving Acharya degree in 1980. In addition to leading retreats at Buddhist centers throughout North America, he founded the Sakya Institute in Cambridge, MA, and has served as the head of the Sakya Retreat Center in Barre, MA.. He lso served as the head of the Sakya Centerin Rajpur, India, and the Sakya Monastery in Puruwalla, India, from 1981 to 1989. He shared teachings with various groups in the Keys in March and April of 2008.
