“GREEN TARA INITIATION AND PRACTICE INSTRUCTION”
The practice of Green Tara helps to overcome fear and anxiety and eliminate suffering of all kinds. ~ 10 AM Green Tara Initiation~ 2 PM Green Tara Practice Instruction/Meditation ~ At conclusion of instruction Lama Migmar will introduce teachings from his newly released book, TREASURES OF THE SAKYA LINEAGE: Teachings from the masters, with opportunity to have book signed by Lama Migmar. Book available through Key West Island Bookstore (292-2904) and Amazon.com. Suggested Mariposa Donation: $15-30 per person/per teaching to help cover expenses. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.Offerings: Traditional Khata and dana offerings can be made to Lama Migmar in gratitude for the teachings at the end of each teaching. Khata scarves are presented for blessing by the Lama and dana is the practice of generosity. Lama Migmar is a Buddhist chaplain at Harvard University. He leads retreats at Buddhist centers throughout North America. He founded the Sakya Institute in Cambridge, MA, and has served as the head of the Sakya Retreat Center in Barre, MA. He also served as the head of the Sakya Center in Rajpur, India, and the Sakya Monastery in Puruwalla, India, from 1981 to 1989.
